Well January has already slipped by and 2015 is going strong! Hope you all had wonderful family time during the holidays… and that the New Year is off to a great start!
We both look forward to January, as we use my birthday for an excuse to escape for a few days of relaxation on the Salmon river. We stay in a great little motel on the rivers edge, and watch the wildlife on the mountain across the river. This year it once again put on a show for us. We saw whitetail and mule deer, turkeys, geese, a bald eagle, and Mr. Wiley Coyote hanging around the fringes, hoping to catch an easy meal! Never ceases to amaze me that one little mountainside can have so much going on. You can sit and glass for hours, continually seeing more wildlife emerge from the shadows, bushes and gullies.
This year my hubby completely took me by surprise when he handed me a large manila envelope. With a silly grin he said, “here’s your birthday card!” I slowly opened it up, wondering what he had up his sleeve! Here is what was inside…
I was speechless!… which is a rare occasion! A Spring Bear Hunt with Elk Springs Outfitters!! I soon found my voice and peppered Gary with exclamations, joy, hugs, kisses and questions!
I thought it couldn’t be topped when he presented me with a Bowtech compound bow 8 years ago. Then he pulled a beautiful 257 mag Weatherby rifle out of his bag of goodies the next year!… This man certainly knows how to pick presents for his huntin’ gal!
